Some items that might be useful to you in getting to know how we run the Buenaventura Senior Men's Golf Club.

1.  First and foremost our tournaments are governed by USGA Rules of Golf.   All members will abide by those rules and any violations will be presented not only to the person, but also to the rules or tournament committees. 

2.  The BSMGC plays every Tuesday morning, weather and course conditions permitting. 

3.  The Membership Chairman and Handicap Chairman will enter your name on the BSMGC roster with Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) through the USGA Golf Handicap and Information Network (GHIN).  You will be issued a membership number by GHIN.  After each round you play, regardless of where or what course you played at,  you are to enter your score into the computer at that course.  By entering your "adjusted score" at the course you played on, the correct rating and slope for the tee you played from will automatically be applied and entered into the master data bank at GHIN.  If you are unable to enter your score at the course (computer down, Pro Shop closed, etc.), post your score either at the SCGA website or at GHIN.com 

4.  Each Tuesday morning during the check in for the day's tournament, there will be sign up sheets for the next two weeks.  Sign up is first come first served.  If for some reason you do not make it to the course on Tuesday to sign up, you may call the Pro Shop after Thursday afternoon (normally) to sign up for an available slot for the following Tuesday.  If you have signed up and find that you can't make it, please call the course and ask them to remove you from the list. 

5.  You will be eligible to play in our tournaments after you have received an established handicap through the GHIN system.  

6.  We normally play a regular stroke (side pot) tournament every Tuesday.  On the third Tuesday of January, April, July, and October we have a 7:30 AM, Shotgun Start tournament followed by a general membership meeting.
